Q: Who is behind your company?
A: Rhonda Withington, the self appointed “Queen Bee” at Thistle Hill Botanicals
Q: How long have you been in business?
A: 11 years now.
Q: What kind of products do you make?
A: It started with Tooth Fairy Dental Cleaning Powder, then the salves were introduced. Now I have added many other natural products: Extra Rich Shea Body Butter, natural and effective deodorants, dry shampoo, Goat’s Milk Soap, and more.
Q: Where are you located?
A: I live in Floyd, Virginia. I live simply in a yurt amongst a lot of trees where the water is pure and there are more cows than people. I LOVE the country! Two years ago, I invested in a small building on my property where I make my products.
Q: Why do you do what you do?
A: I have always loved to create, and I have always strived to keep chemicals out of my life. My grandmother died of cancer that started early as breast cancer and progressed to bone cancer. After learning the dangers of toxins in deodorants and other products, I started making my own.
Q: What kind of impact do you hope your products make on the people that purchase them?
A: Besides providing them with one or two natural products, I hope that they realize they have the power to make really informed choices with MANY products that they use in their homes and on their bodies.
Q: How do you plan on furthering your mission from here on out?
A: I hope in the future to bring on an intern with similar zest for what I am doing.
Q: Anything else you’d like to share?
A: I do not have the opportunity to personally deliver to all of the stores that I wholesale to. I LOVE visiting the staff at Health Nut. I get the BEST hugs and the warmest greetings from the staff. You should be very proud of the environment you have created.
